OVERVIEW
Patagonia is one of the most iconic and famous regions of South America. This large region is known for its wilderness, wide range of habitats, and landscapes. Most of its flora and fauna species are not found anywhere else in world.
This extensive birding tour takes you to the most diverse parts of Patagonia, from the Atlantic coast in the east to the Pacific coast in the west, across scrublands, deserts, steppes, transitional forests, and temperate rainforest. Visiting impressive breeding colonies, looking for endemic, range-restricted, and endangered birds, marveling at breathtaking landscapes, as well as experiencing the local cuisine.
This tour offers excellent chances to see many of the most attractive Patagonian birds, including a particularly high diversity of Rhinocryptids (tapaculos, gallitos and huet-huets), a big part of the Argentina endemic birds, endangered species such as Yellow Cardinal, two species of Rheas, marine birds at both oceans’ coasts, the world’s largest breeding colonies of Magellanic Penguins and Burrowing Parakeets. And many marine and land mammals, such as Southern Right Whale, Southern Elephant Seal, Dusky Dolphin, Guanaco, Patagonian Mara, armadillos and more.
