For over 12 years Steve Sánchez has been photographing birds and wild animals in tropical South America and other parts of the world. In several online courses he shares his knowledge to help you develop and improve your bird and wildlife photography skills. The live online courses offer the opportunity for questions and interaction to improve your learning. The courses will be given via Zoom.

ONE-ON-ONE COURSE

Learn about bird photography during a personalized online course.

A one-on-one course offers the opportunity to focus on a specific topic in bird photography of your own choice.

For example: Using flashlight in a natural environment; Using Fill Flash; Photographic techniques to improve your photos (exposure, speed, ISO, Shutter, etc.); Editing photos with Adobe Photoshop at all levels or with a particular theme (more details in your photos, cleaning noise, etc.); Taking photos in manual mode.

Would you like advice on photographic equipment for bird photography? Steve can help you choose the right equipment for you, analyze the pros and cons of different cameras, lenses, flash, tripods, ball joint, etc.

BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY EDITING IN PHOTOSHOP - LEVEL 1

During this interactive online course you will learn how to make the best out of your photos by using Adobe Photoshop.

Part 1: The course starts with a theoretical part about Adobe Bridge, Camera Raw and Adobe Photoshop. Focus points are: Which photos are most suitable for editing; Camera Raw tools in different situations and images; The most common Photoshop tools to create a natural looking photo; How to save and order the Raw files and final JPEG’s.

Part 2: During this part of the course Steve will edit live a variety of photos, so you will be able to observe every step of the process. You will also be asked to share some of your own photos (edited and the original), to observe them together and learn how they can be improved.

The course will take 2:30 hours, with a maximum of 2 participants.

BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY EDITING IN PHOTOSHOP - LEVEL 2

This online course is for people who have completed the Bird Photography Editing Course – Level 1, or people who already have good knowledge of Camera Raw and Adobe Photoshop and are familiar working with them.

Part 1: During the first session of the course, we will focus on more complex tools and processes to edit our bird photos. We will also look at how to correct or improve challenging parts in the photos, such as fog, extreme backlighting, red-eye correction in night photos, noise reduction in backgrounds, remove unwanted items etc. You will learn how to work with layers and zones to improve your editing.

Part 2: This session will be entirely practical and interactive. We will look at a selection of your own photos (edited and the original) and learn how they can be improved.

The course will take 2:30 hours, with a maximum of 2 participants.

BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY IN TROPICAL ENVIRONMENTS

This online course is designed for people who want to improve their photography skills in tropical environments, such as cloud or mist forests, dense forests, jungle etc.

The common factor of these places is the lack of light. That makes bird photography challenging, but not impossible. With the right equipment and camera settings it is possible to make beautiful photos in the tropics.

In this course we will discuss: Different types of equipment (amateur and professional) and what photographic techniques to use to get the most out of your camera; Mistakes often made and solutions for different types of cameras; How the lack of light can be managed by using fill flash automatically or in manual mode.

The course takes 2:30 hours and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share experiences etc. Maximum  of 2 participants.
