OVERVIEW
With more than 1,900 bird species, Colombia is the most bird-diverse country in the world and a fantastic destination for bird photographers. This tour offers a fantastic bird photography adventure through the Central and Western Andes of Colombia.
We will start our tour in Bogotá and then cross a large part of the country, exploring a wide variety of landscapes and ecosystems, from the cold páramo at around 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) above sea level, to the dry forest of the inter-Andean valleys, the rainforest on the western slopes of the Andes, and the lowlands of the Chocó region. These diverse environments are home to a rich birdlife, including many endemic and near-endemic species.
We visit several gardens with feeders, offering excellent photo opportunities for antpittas, tanagers, wood-quails, toucans, and a wide variety of hummingbirds. In the surrounding reserves, we search for spectacular endemic species such as the spectacular Buffy Helmetcrest, Gold-ringed Tanager, and the attractive Multicolored Tanager.
The majestic Andes and its remarkable variety of habitats offer the opportunity to photograph a wide range of endemic, near-endemic, and other spectacular bird species—an exceptional photography experience.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, where we will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. Overnight at a hotel in Bogotá.
Day 2: Flight from Bogotá to Medellín, followed by a road transfer to Jardín, with some photo stops along the way. Overnight at a hotel in Jardín.
Day 3: Photography sessions at the Bambusa feeders and surrounding areas. Overnight at a hotel in Jardín.
Day 4: Early transfer to the La Lucia feeders to photograph endemic species like Chami Antpitta and Yellow-eared Parrot. In the afternoon, we visit an Andean Cock-of-the-rock lek, followed by a transfer to Manizales. Overnight at a hotel in Manizales.
Day 5: Full photography day at the feeders and gardens of the Río Blanco Reserve. Overnight at a hotel in Manizales.
Day 6: Early transfer to the Color de mis Rêves Reserve, one of the best places to photograph the beautiful Black-billed Mountain-Toucan and many other species. Overnight at a hotel in Manizales.
Day 7: Early transfer to Hacienda El Bosque, a fantastic place to photograph Gray-breasted Mountain-Toucans and Crescent-faced Antpitta. Overnight at Hacienda El Bosque.
Day 8: Early transfer to the high-altitude Nevado del Ruiz area to look for the Buffy Helmetcrest, followed by a visit to the hummingbird feeders at Termales del Ruiz. In the afternoon, transfer to the Tinamú Reserve. Overnight at Tinamú Lodge.
Day 9: Full photography day at Tinamú Lodge. We will enjoy excellent tanager feeders and have good chances to photograph the beautiful Golden-collared Manakin. Overnight at Tinamú Lodge.
Day 10: Transfer to Cali with a few stops along the way to stretch our legs. Overnight at a hotel in Cali.
Day 11: Full day at the La Florida feeders, with excellent chances to photograph the endemic Multicolored Tanager, as well as hummingbirds, toucans, tinamous, and many other species. Overnight at a hotel in Cali.
Day 12: Visit to the Doña Dora feeders, one of the best places in Colombia to photograph the striking Toucan Barbet, as well as various tanagers and hummingbirds. Overnight at a hotel in Cali.
Day 13: Full photography day at the San Felipe Reserve with feeders and excellent chances to photograph Chestnut Wood-Quail, Sickle-winged Guan, and Multicolored Tanager. In the late afternoon, transfer to Cali airport for a flight to Bogotá. Overnight at a hotel in Bogotá.
Day 14: Transfer to Bogotá airport for your flight home, marking the end of the tour.
